Our Wines
Valpaços wines are yielded with selected regional top-quality breeds. The combination of those breeds with an exceptional microclimate allowing the production of a first-class wine, which has been often awarded internationally. The warm temperatures existing during the grape maturation period determine the concentration of sugars, as well as a higher alcohol degree of the wines.
Valpaços wines show some similarities with Alentejo wines due to the warm temperatures in both regions during the grape maturation period, but they are different from Douro wine region, because in the latter best-quality grapes are selected to make fortified wines, but that selection is not performed in Valpaços region.
Which are the main features of Valpaços produced wines?
Trincadeira or Tinta Amarela (=Yellow ink) wines show a clear, vanilla-flavoured aspect after its mixing with the wood, developing an evolved velvet taste.
Red wines are full-bodied, full-coloured, soft and easy-to-drink.
White wines possess a right acidity, moreover they are fresh, slight and flower-scented.
